Beyond the Practice
Beyond her work at Thriving Minds, Dr. Smith has long been dedicated to education and community connection, tutoring chemistry, physics, and organic chemistry at the University of Pennsylvania Tutoring Center, and volunteering with the West Philly Tutoring Project, where she provided free one-on-one math tutoring to middle school students during the 2013 district shutdown.
Her passion for service also found expression through music, she founded and arranged music for two volunteer a cappella groups that performed for hospitalized patients and nursing home residents during the holidays, creating moments of comfort and joy for others through song.
Outside of her professional and volunteer roles, Dr. Smith enjoys spending time outdoors with her family, caring for her indoor and outdoor plants, playing recreational sports with her husband, singing in the car, dancing, and relaxing with Vinyasa yoga.
